Frequently Asked Questions
When should my dog be on heartworm prevention?
We recommend year-round heartworm prevention. This is most frequently in the form of a chew tab given once monthly, or an injection given once yearly. Before starting any form of heartworm prevention, it is necessary to test your dog for heartworm disease. If they have the disease and start heartworm prevention, they can have a life-threatening reaction.
When should my dog or cat be on flea & tick prevention?
We recommend year-round flea and tick prevention for both dogs and cats. This comes in many forms, including chew tabs, collars, and topical preventatives. If you aren’t sure which to use for your pet, call us and we will be happy to discuss the options with you.
When do you schedule farm calls/house calls?
The timing of farm call appointments varies depending on the season and our staffing. We always offer afternoon farm and house call appointments, and sometimes can offer morning appointments. If you have time restrictions on your availability, please let us know and we will do our best to work within the times you are available.
Do you offer billing?
Payment is always required at the time of service, and we do not offer long-term billing options. If you are concerned about the possible cost of your pet’s appointment or procedure, we are always happy to provide an estimate of the expected costs and if there are concerns, we are happy to discuss them with you and we will always try to work within your budget to do what is best for your pet.
Do you offer ScratchPay or CareCredit?
We do participate with ScratchPay, however we do not participate with CareCredit.
